New Acquisition: Shetland collection
We are delighted to have acquired a fine collection of volumes relating to Britain’s most northerly archipelago: Shetland. The books cover a wide range of areas including the history, topography, literature, archaeology, architecture and natural history of the islands. Almost all of the books are in fine or as new condition. A selection are shown here:

The collection includes Bobby the Birdman (Birlinn Ltd, 2016), an anthology edited by Jonathan Wills and Mike McDonnell of the Shetland naturalist Bobby Tulloch. Born on Yell in 1929, “Bobby the Birdman” was appointed RSPB Warden of Shetland in 1964 and featured in many BBC natural history documentaries, especially relating to his discovery of Snowy Owls nesting on Shetland. Our copy is in fine condition and signed by both editors on the half-title page. No other marks, clean and bright, tight binding, flawless cream boards, almost like new. In its original, unclipped dust jacket with minimal shelf wear. Price: £15.
