Featured Work: “Evenings with the Stars” by Mary Proctor, Cassell and Company (London, 1924). £290.

Born in Dublin in 1862, Mary Proctor was an author and amateur astronomer. As well as many novels, Mary wrote various non-fiction volumes mostly popularising astronomical study. Now scarce, her 1924 work “Evenings with the Stars” takes the reader on a journey around the constellations of the northern hemisphere, and is written in a typically fresh and accessible style.

This copy has a little foxing to page edges and end papers. No other marks, clean and bright, tight binding, despite some wear to front hinge. The decorative green cloth boards have rubbing to spine extremities, a little marking to rear face, front face is clean and bright. A very good copy.
